A needy does not need to ask for help.
Rather, help reaches them with grace.
Being needy is a temporary state in one’s life.
Our community is grand.
What HELP does
HELP facilitates a helping person in reaching a needy to fulfil their needs.
- • Make our communities free for the needy.
- • Help is available before the need arises.
- • Match between available help and requested need.
- • Open and transparent communication between the helping person, the needy, and partner organisations.
An appeal — extend help beforehand
Make quicker impacts. Our community is a grand place.
Donate to the Residents’ Collective initiatives — initiatives that drive collective action.
Everyone contributes — not just one or a few donors.
How the cost of a need is shared
Everyone’s contribution counts. The expenditure for meeting a needy’s need is made up of the following components, added together:
The terms we use
Helping person
A person who wants to provide help to a needy. Under the Niwasi initiative we encourage everyone to be a helping person — they could be poor or affluent.
Needy
Almost everyone is, at some time, in need of some kind of help but unable to meet it on their own due to a prevailing situation. Being needy is a temporary state. A needy can be an individual, a resident, a family, or a community.
Need
Something a person is not able to meet on their own — temporary (a finished cooking-gas cylinder with no back-up) or long-lived (an educational scholarship for a bright but underprivileged child).
